Preserving Analog Memories in the Heart of Málaga
Stionhub is a specialized studio dedicated to the transfer of magnetic media and films into modern digital formats. Since our founding in 2018, we have focused on rescuing images and sounds stored on tapes and negatives, ensuring that family heritage remains accessible for future generations.
Our Trajectory and Approach
Located in the center of Málaga, we operate a digitization center equipped to handle a wide variety of obsolete formats. Our activity is based on absolute respect for the original material and the application of standardized technical processes. We do not perform simple copies; instead, we analyze the physical state of each medium to determine the most appropriate capture method.
Over the years, we have processed an average of 450 media items per month, allowing us to optimize our internal workflows. We utilize scanning technology that reaches 6400 dpi for photographs and slides, providing a precise technical resolution that allows for subsequent enlargement or high-quality printing of the recovered images.
The Technical Team
The quality of digitization depends directly on human supervision and a deep understanding of the chemistry and mechanics of vintage media. Our team consists of professionals dedicated to each stage of the process:
- Cristina Blanco Fernández: General Manager, responsible for studio management and client relations.
- Raúl Cano Gutiérrez: Digitization Specialist, in charge of the technical capture of video and audio.
- Sara Pérez Vidal: Restoration Technician, specializing in media cleaning and image correction.
How We Work
The process at Stionhub begins with a detailed reception and the creation of an inventory sheet for every order. Subsequently, the media undergo a physical inspection phase to detect potential damage or mold. Once the material is stabilized, we proceed with digitization using professional hardware compatible with the original format.
Finally, files are organized and delivered in standard formats such as MP4, WAV, or TIFF, facilitating storage on cloud services or external drives. For clients with questions regarding the preparation of their materials, we provide a knowledge base with detailed guides.
We maintain a policy of transparency regarding timelines, with an average delivery time of 10 days, and we ensure the return of all original media once the process is complete.
